Todreas Hanley selected to revitalize 77,000 s/f Thorne's Marketplace
Todreas Hanley Associates, has been named retail development consultant for Thorne's Marketplace.
Thorne's Marketplace will undergo repositioning and revitalization that will take place during the following year.
Thorne's Marketplace is a mixed-use specialty retail and office center consisting of 77,000 s/f on Main St. in downtown.
Formerly a 19th century mercantile structure transformed into a contemporary shopping emporium in the 1980s, the multi-level building consists of 3 1/2 floors of boutiques, stores, and eateries, and a top level of newly constructed office space. Todreas Hanley Associates with architectural services from Anderson Porter Design, Cambridge, Mass., are updating the image, identity, and retail plan of Thorne's to create a renewed and distinctive retail experience.
While many of the specialty stores will remain, the retail identity and planning will revitalize the building and provide space for new tenants to serve area and the robust regional university and tourist markets.
Wallingford, CT O,R&L Commercial has completed the $3.8 million sale of a mixed-use investment property located at 33-39 North Main St. and 24-25 Wallace Ave. in the town center.
Now what? As the year comes to a close, the state of retail is always in the news. The answers vary greatly depending on who in the various related industries you ask, each offering a unique lens on the challenges and opportunities ahead.
This may seem self-serving, and I’ll be the first to admit it. But unlike some of the artificial intelligence tools now reshaping our industry, I am fully aware of my own bias. So, hear me out. The rise of AI in commercial real estate is not a distant threat or a speculative headline.
