Biddeford, ME Reveler Development, in partnership with Penobscot General Contractors, held the “topping out” of their latest project located at 60 Barra Rd. The milestone marks the completion of the building’s structural phase, bringing it one step closer to delivering a residential offering to the area’s growing workforce.

“We are incredibly proud of this project and the progress that Penobscot and their team have made here,” said John Laliberte, CEO of Reveler. “It takes a huge amount of effort by a lot of different people to get a project like this done. 60 Barra Rd. was designed and developed to provide a modern housing option for Biddeford’s diverse residents, connecting a vibrant population to quality housing. We are excited to contribute to this area’s continued growth with an innovative design that is uniquely focused on community-based living.”

60 Barra Rd. aims to help address the region’s rising housing need, with the surrounding area home to some of the town’s largest employers in the healthcare and higher education sectors. Located minutes from downtown Biddeford and within commutable distance to Portland, the project design focuses simultaneously on this local connection and the natural tranquility of its wooded surroundings. Scheduled to open in spring of 2025, 60 Barra Rd. will offer a total 250 housing units – including 124 studios and 126 one-bedroom apartments. When completed, residents will enjoy an array of onsite and indoor-outdoor amenities including a courtyard, golf simulator, raised garden beds and sunroom. Financing partners on the project include Rockland Trust and Porta Capital Partners.

Traditionally held to honor the project team and commemorate a building’s construction progress, the “topping out” ceremony invited 60 Barra Rd.’s project partners, crew members, and community stakeholders, including the mayor of Biddeford, Marty Grohman, to sign the last steel beam before its installation. Following remarks by the Reveler team, Penobscot, and the mayor, attendees enjoyed lunch and were invited to tour the construction site to learn more about the upcoming project.

Alongside Reveler and Penobscot General Contractors, 60 Barra Rd. is being developed through the dedicated work of the full project team, including Market Square Architects, Capone Iron Works, Sargent Electrical, Schlick Engineering, S.W. Cole, Varney Agency, and many others.

60 Barra Rd. is set to begin preleasing in winter 2025.

“Penobscot General Contractors is proud to celebrate this critical project milestone with all the project stakeholders. This milestone is a testament to all the team members, trade partners, design partners, and vendors who have contributed to this project in any manner, small or large,” said Jon DiCentes, co-president of Penobscot General Contractors. “We would like to recognize Reveler for their vision for this project and the leadership they have provided to get it to this point. We are excited to celebrate this milestone and look forward to finishing this project and providing 250 new homes for the greater Biddeford area.”
