Reveler Development reintroduces Portland Public Garage

Portland, ME Reveler Development has reintroduced the Portland Public Garage, featuring a refreshed identity, updated hours of operation, and revised pricing designed to better serve the city’s Bayside and downtown neighborhoods.

More than a simple renaming, the reintroduction reflects a renewed focus on the role of its infrastructure in supporting the city’s continued growth. Reveler continues to advance its long-term vision to add housing and mixed-use development in Bayside through the Bayside Master Development Plan.

“Portland is facing a well-documented housing shortage, and Bayside represents one of the city’s greatest opportunities to thoughtfully add new homes in a walkable, downtown setting,” said John Laliberte, CEO of Reveler Development. “Infrastructure like the Portland Public Garage is essential to making that vision possible, supporting residents, businesses, and visitors while enabling higher-density development.”

Reveler’s Bayside Master Development Plan outlines a strategy to transform underutilized land into a mixed-use neighborhood anchored by new housing, local businesses, and public amenities. Projects already underway, including the 89 Elm Apartments, a 201-unit affordable housing community under construction will help address strong demand and limited supply in the city’s rental market.

Within this broader vision, the Portland Public Garage serves as shared infrastructure that supports residential density, local businesses, and overall accessibility while reducing pressure on surrounding streets.

Its central location, adjacent to and connected with the former Portland Public Market building, further strengthens its role as a key access point for the neighborhood, particularly as new tenants like Maine Public bring renewed activity to the site.

As part of the reintroduction, the garage now offers updated operating hours, a simplified and competitive pricing structure, improved signage and branding, and a fully redesigned website to provide clear, real-time information for users. These updates are intended to create a more seamless parking experience while positioning the asset to support continued growth in the surrounding district.

Reveler’s broader work in Bayside and downtown emphasizes the importance of coordinated infrastructure in creating vibrant, livable neighborhoods, complementing new residential and commercial development across the area. “Reintroducing the Portland Public Garage is about more than parking. It is about enabling the next phase of growth in Bayside,” Laliberte said.
