Rodman sells 43,000 s/f office/industrial building to Cadence Science for $3.5 million

Sheldon Rodman, SIOR, president and Thomas Sweeney, SIOR, vice president of Rodman Real Estate, Inc. have concluded the $3.5 million sale of the office/industrial building at 2080 Plainfield Pike. The 43,000 s/f building is situated on 6.46 acres in the Western Cranston Industrial Complex. The property was formerly the home of Quill Corp. and was purchased by Cadence Science Inc., a subsidiary of Virginia-based Cadence, Inc. The new site will produce a combination of high performance fluid handling components for scientific applications and medical device components and assemblies. Cadence plans to refit the building for their use. CEO Peter Harris said, "We are excited about the future prospects of growing our operation in Cranston and believe the new facility will be a key strategic enabler of growth for our science division." Rodman worked with Cadence in their statewide search for appropriate facilities and the Plainfield property was eventually chosen as most suitable. Mayor Allan Fung said, "We are very excited about the purchase of this property by Cadence Science. The medical field manufacturing is exactly the type of light impact industry that works so well in a city like Cranston." The seller was Quill Associates. The asking price was $3.8 million.
