Rogers of RE/MAX installed as 2009 MAR president

Gary Rogers of RE/MAX First Realty, was installed as president of the 21,000 member Mass. Assn. of Realtors (MAR) for 2009. The event took place at the Westin Hotel and included the installation of the MAR board of directors and executive committee. Roger's term officially begins on January 1st. As president, Rogers will direct the internal and external activities of the assn.; preside at all meetings of the MAR board of directors and executive committee; represent the association at important meetings and business functions; and act as the official spokesperson for the association on issues related to the real estate industry and local housing market. Prior to being elected president, Rogers served as president-elect in 2008 and MAR secretary-treasurer in 2006 and 2007. He has been a member of the building task force, finance, Realtor of the Year, professional standards, Milton H. Shaw award and investment, leadership development, and disaster assistance relief committees. He was chairman of the personnel committee in 2006 and the finance committee in 2006 and 2007. In 2005, Rogers was named MAR Realtor of the Year. On the local level, Rogers is serving his second consecutive term on the Professional Standards Committee and served as a regional director of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors® (GBAR) in 2005, a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. The 2005 chairman of the GBAR's Regional Outreach Task Force, he has been an active member of his local association's Professional Standards Committee since 2003. He previously served as president of the local association's Council K in 2001. On the national level, Rogers serves on the Member Policy Jurisdiction and Risk Management Committees of the National Association of Realtors®. A Realtor® since 1994, Rogers has successfully earned the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) professional real estate designations.
