Russell of Cummings Properties promoted to operations manager

Derek Russell has been promoted to operations manager at Cummings Properties. Russell is a nine-year veteran of the suburban commercial real estate firm.
In his new role, Russell will be responsible for managing all client activities in Cummings Properties' Core Division, which represents more than 2 million s/f of prime commercial space, as well as nearly 575 client firms, all within the city.
His primary focus will be client retention and business development, but he will also have managerial responsibilities for the five leasing/property managers on his team.
Born and raised in Hyde Park, New York, Russell moved to the Boston area to attend Bentley College. After graduating in 1994 with a BS in Business Communications, he worked in internet technology sales for a small agency.
Russell joined Woburn-based Cummings Properties in 2003 as a property manager, and his scope of responsibilities has steadily increased over time with managerial roles at several Cummings buildings. Most recently, Russell managed one of the firm's highly visible, flagship properties, TradeCenter 128 in Woburn.
Russell said, "Cummings Properties has been a fantastic place to grow and learn. I'm excited for this new role that will allow me to further develop my management skills."

Cummings Properties is a full-service development, property management, and construction firm with 83 buildings in 10 eastern Massachusetts communities. It leases prime commercial space for offices, medical practices, and research laboratories to more than 2,000 clients of all sizes.
