September is always a time to regroup after the lazy days of summer. I am ready and looking forward to some educational events coordinated by our educational committee.

The Annual IFMA Boston Harbor Cruise was fun as always. The skyline is forever changing as new facilities are added. I just love the view. It is a great way to kick off the summer and take a break to enjoy our night with family and friends, but I am eager to see what is ahead for 2017-2018.

I have been a part of IFMA Boston for as long as I have been with New England Real Estate Journal, almost 3 years. The opportunities are endless. Networking can be a key component to any successful career. Networking is a socioeconomic business activity by which business people meet to form business relationships and to recognize, create, or act upon business opportunities, share information and seek potential partners for ventures.

IFMA Boston’s Educational committee does an amazing job of putting together some great events, so stay tuned.

If you would like to join IFMA and/or come to an event you can contact IFMA Boston to answer any questions you may have.

Membership in IFMA, is individual with all benefits flowing to individuals not their employers. Depending on your job responsibilities, you may apply as either a professional member (professional responsibilities as a facility manager, project manager, architect, etc.) or as an associate member of record (sales and marketing, business development staff, vendors to facilities managers, etc.) All memberships and dues are sent to and processed by IFMA headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Annie McEvoy is associate publisher at NEREJ, Norwell, Mass.
