Shair of M&J Assoc. reps. landlord in the opening of a 23,644 s/f Circuit City

According to Mark Shair of M&J Associates, Circuit City has opened at Westgate Mall. The store is 23,644 s/f and was formerly an Office Max. It is on Westgate Dr. directly across from the main entrance to the 700,000 s/f Westgate Mall. The mall is anchored by Macys, Sears, Marshalls and a 2,700 seat Showcase Cinema whch is under construction.  Adjcent is a 52,000 s/f Dicks Sporting Goods. Attached to Circuit City is 7,000 s/f which can be expanded to 14,000 s/f that is for lease.  And, an outparcel is available. Circuit City operates 700 stores and had 2007 sales of $12 billion. It is the 2nd largest electronics chain in the US. Ami Cipolla of the Dartmouth Co. represented Circuit City and Mark Shair, of M&J Associates represented the landlord. In addition, Expressions has opened at Dedham Mall. Expressions is located in the 150,000 s/f Stop&Shop/Dicks Plaza adjacent to Dedham Mall. The store is 3,760 s/f. This is the 27th store for Expressions. They operate in Mass., R.I. and Conn. and feature a full line of athletic footwear and related apparel. According to Shair, "Expressions are terrific merchants that are exactly on top of the latest fashion trends in the rapidly changing athletic footwear market." Shair represented Expressions and Debra DiMeo of the Wilder Companies represented the landlord.

Goldberg of Spire Investments purchases Beverly portfolio for $9.2m

Beverly, MA Jay Goldberg, president and owner of Spire Investments has completed the purchase of four multifamily buildings. The 33-unit purchase amounted to a sale price of $9.2 million or $278,788 per unit. The properties are all located in downtown and consist of one- and two-bedroom units.
