Shawmut Design and Construction hires Sotir as project executive

Shawmut Design and Construction, an $860 million national construction management firm, has hired John Sotir to the retail division as project executive. As project executive, Sotir will be responsible for overseeing the entire office and field teams for all of his projects. Using his 25 years of retail construction experience, he will serve as they key owner liaison, accountable for client satisfaction in all aspects of the project, as well as monitoring project scheduling and budgets. Sotir is currently working on projects for Versace Collection, Rebecca Minkoff, and Camille La Vie. Prior to joining Shawmut, Sotir was COO at Mackenzie Keck Construction and director of store planning and construction at Live Specialty Retail Group/Trans World Entertainment. He has worked with clients including David Yurman, Under Armour and Godiva. He has worked on projects throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, and the U.K. "Shawmut Design and Construction is a well-established firm with a portfolio filled with notable projects. I look forward to working on such a talented and professional team and helping expand the retail division," said Sotir. Sotir is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and Retail Design Institute. He graduated from College of the Holy Cross with a bachelor of arts in economics. "With over 25 years of experience in retail construction and after completing successful projects across many geographic regions, John will bring a lot of insight to our projects nationwide," said Les Hiscoe, president of Shawmut. "His experience and leadership will be invaluable to our team as we continue to grow."
