Shawmut Design and Construction named fastest growing company in Rhode Island

Providence, RI Shawmut Design and Construction has been named among Providence Business News’ list of Fastest Growing Private Companies –ranking first in the $75 million and above revenue category while also being recognized as the most innovative–during the 2020 Fastest Growing & Innovative Companies awards program.

Shawmut’s local operation–which opened in 1999 and is currently one of ten company offices throughout the country–has achieved exponential physical and financial growth, reporting a 50.1% three-year growth average between 2017 and 2019 alone. Known for completing complex, high-profile projects, Shawmut has played a significant role in the region, including recently completing Point225, formerly known as the Wexford Innovation Center, and River House apartments within the I-195 redevelopment with ongoing projects at the new Aloft Hotel and various projects at Brown University.

“We are honored to be recognized among so many notable businesses,” said Kevin Sullivan, Executive Vice President of New England at Shawmut. “With a firm with roots in Rhode Island for more than two decades, we are proud of our dedication to delivering a best-in-class client experience for our partners while also contributing to the region’s commitment to growth and innovation.”

Shawmut was also awarded as a 2020 Innovative Company winner by a panel of judges for its creation and rollout of Shawmut Vitals — a custom technology platform deployed on all jobsites and offices nationwide designed to check for COVID-19 symptoms and manage contact tracing to minimize and control infectious disease spread.
