Shawmut Design and Construction opens in New Haven

Shawmut Design and Construction, a leading national construction management firm, has opened operations in New Haven. The opening continues Shawmut's strong growth at the national level and highlights the momentum the company is experiencing in New England, where it has in recent years completed a variety of projects in the academic sector. Headquartered in Boston, Shawmut now has offices in six locations, including New York City, Providence, R.I., Atlantic City, N.J., Las Vegas, and New Haven and has more than 800 employees. Shawmut's presence in Connecticut has also grown, with the firm recently completing the construction of Yale University's Sculpture Building project in New Haven. This challenging project consisted of the ground-up construction of the 55,000 s/f sculpture building, 3,000 s/f gallery, and 134,000 s/f parking garage, with the project earning LEED Platinum certification.
