Boston, MA Shawmut Design and Construction, a $2 billion national construction management firm, has reached a major milestone in New England, surpassing $1 billion in revenue in 2024—driven by larger, more complex projects and strong partnerships with long-standing and new clients. In response to this growth, Shawmut has strategically expanded its regional leadership team to ensure continued excellence in execution and client service.

The firm’s growth has been built on its ability to deliver highly customized, high-quality projects while maintaining the client-first, tailored service approach that has defined its reputation for over 42 years. Recent major projects include the opening of UMass Chan Medical School’s $350 million new education and research building in Worcester; the start of construction on Boston University’s $550 million renovation of Warren Towers; continued progress on FM’s new R&D campus in Norwood; and Harvard University’s redevelopment of 175 North Harvard Street, which includes new affiliate housing at 100 South Campus Drive and the future new home of the American Repertory Theater. Additionally, Shawmut expanded its regional footprint with a new Worcester office, reinforcing its commitment to central Massachusetts.

"Shawmut’s incredible growth has been fueled by larger, more complex projects, but what sets us apart is that we never waver from our core commitment—delivering best-in-class experiences for our clients, driven by the best people in the industry," said Kevin Sullivan, executive vice president of the New England Region at Shawmut Design and Construction. "Our leadership expansion is a direct response to this momentum, ensuring we have the right expertise and structure in place to uphold the executional excellence and client-first approach that have been the foundation of our success in New England for more than four decades."
