Shawmut Design completes 8,100 s/f John Harvard's Brewery

Shawmut Design and Construction, located at 560 Harrison Avenue in Boston, has completed an 8,100 s/f renovation at John Harvard's Brewery & Ale House. Owned by Centerplate, Inc., it is located at 33 Dunster St. Designed by BSR Brand + Environment, the project included the remodeling and refreshing of the restaurant space. Shawmut's installation of two new conical bottom beer fermentation tanks will play a key role in the new restaurant experience. The design also included the restoration of many existing historic finishes, including the 100-year old floor, bar top, wooden panels and pub table tops. Shawmut actively worked with the client to identify which elements were able to be restored. "Shawmut is excited to begin a partnership with Centerplate as they launch a new chapter in brewing and dining in Boston," said Randy Shelly, director of sports venues at Shawmut. "Shawmut's ability to complete complex projects within constricted environments is what makes us a preferred builder." Centerplate is one of the top sports venue concessionaries in the industry.
