Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital receives $150,000 from Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation

Brockton, MA The Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation has provided $150,000 to Brockton Hospital to support renovations that will strengthen the local delivery of safe and exceptional health care. This grant will increase access to quality patient care through updates and modernization to the Emergency Room (ER) which include a behavioral health section.

“As one of the nation’s best safety net hospitals, we are honored to support Brockton Hospital,” said Andrea Borowiecki, vice president of charitable giving and community engagement at Rockland Trust. “These improvements will increase accessibility to high quality medical services for all community members, including those with limited resources looking for care close to home.”

Brockton Hospital’s ER is one of the busiest in Massachusetts. With 60,000 annual visits, it is the only local community hospital with an inpatient adult psychiatric unit. Other improvements include modernizing the Brockton Hospital lobby, the creation of an outpatient surgery center and new equipment for the cardiac catheterization lab.

“We are grateful to the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation for this generous gift which helps us fulfill our mission of providing exceptional care to our patients, close to home”, states Jeff Miller, VP of development for Signature Healthcare. “This gift demonstrates Rockland Trust’s investment in and commitment to the health of our patients and our community.”
