Skanska USA hires Breen as senior vice president

Skanska USA has hired Joseph Breen as senior vice president. In his new role at Skanska, Breen will utilize his 25 years of experience in construction to provide expertise and assistance with Skanska's projects in the New England area. His responsibilities include overseeing all of the construction management aspects of each job, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and through the most sustainable means.
"Breen brings a wealth of experience to our office, particularly in the healthcare and higher education sectors," said Paul Hewins, general manager and executive vice president for Skanska's New England office. "His vast expertise and proven track record for successfully delivering complex projects will provide our clients with the highest quality of service. Breen will also be integral to our new business efforts as we pursue additional projects throughout the region. We look forward to having him join our growing Skanska team."
Prior to joining Skanska, Breen served as senior vice president for Walsh Brothers, where he was responsible for business development and executive project oversight with clientele for higher education and healthcare facilities including the Dana Farber Cancer Institute's, Yawkey Center, a LEED Gold certified project that earned the Build America Award from the national Associated General Contractors of America. Other institutions include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Institute, Harvard Business School, Harvard Law School, and Simmons College.
Breen received his Bachelor of Arts in engineering sciences from Dartmouth College. He is a member of the Lean Construction Institute, is a LEED Accredited Professional, and has served on several committees overseeing renovation and modernization of the Marblehead public school system.
Currently, Skanska's New England office is constructing the Springfield Data Center, which will serve as a secure home for the state's electronic records and data systems while also providing critical backup for the Commonwealth's existing primary data center. Skanska is also performing work for the Harvard Law School, Harvard University Art Museums, Massport, the Cambridge Housing Authority and UMass Medical Center, Worcester.
