New Canaan, CT S/L/A/M Construction Services (SLAM) began construction on the new 28,000 s/f mixed-use, joint project with 4M Capital Trust, LLC in downtown.

“We’re thrilled to be working with 4M Capital Trust,” said Gene Torone, president of S/L/A/M Construction Services. “In addition to providing the architectural services, our construction services division will be assisting 4M through the bidding and pre-construction phase. Our work with 4M Capital Trust and Karp Associates Inc. is a testament to how SLAM’s unique integrated practice provides continuity in services that transition from design through construction.”

Located a half mile from New Canaan’s Metro-North Station on Cross St., the three-story mixed-use building will accommodate 7,000 s/f of retail space and 12 residential rental units. The building will feature flexible retail space fronting on Cross St., with one and two-bedroom market-rate apartments above, all in a desirable part of town adjacent to the downtown area.

“4M Capital Trust is excited to collaborate with SLAM on this project,” said Arnold Karp, president of 4M Capital Trust.

Site work is currently underway and construction is scheduled for completion in July of 2016.  4M Capital is the developer and builder with The S/L/A/M Collaborative serving as the architect and S/L/A/M Construction Services as the construction manager advisor.
