SLAM ranked top green design firm in Connecticut

Glastonbury, CT The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) jumped 23 spots reaching number 46 on the rankings of the top 100 green design firms as ranked by Engineering News-Record (ENR).SLAM also ranked as the top green design firm in Connecticut.

The firms are ranked according to revenue for design services generated in 2014 from projects that have been registered with or certified by a third-party organization – such as the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Green Building Initiative and Green Advantage – that sets standards for measuring a facility’s environmental impact, energy efficiency or carbon footprint.

SLAM had a design revenue of $20.5 million with 30% of time spent on projects that incorporated green practices. According to ENR, as a group, the Top 100 generated $5.21 billion in design revenue in 2014 from projects registered with and actively seeking certification from third-party rating groups under objective sustainable-design standards such as LEED.

For the group, this revenue is a 10.1 percent increase from the $4.73 billion in 2013. Domestically, green design revenue rose 5.8 percent.
