Smedberg joins Tighe & Bond

Tighe & Bond Inc.

Providence, RI Tighe & Bond Inc. welcomed Rob Smedberg, PE to its client sector group. He will assume the role of client sector leader for institutions. In this role, Smedberg will continue expanding Tighe & Bond’s work with institutions. Currently, the firm works on public and private K-12 and higher education projects and with hospitals and medical centers throughout the Northeast.

He hasexperience in client-focused roles, overseeing strategies for market growth and driving business development initiatives for sector teams. For the last 17 years, Smedberg has worked as the northeast regional institutional market leader and healthcare sector leader within the A/E/C industry. He facilitated client-focused research, capture strategies, and increased brand awareness by developing and deploying market visibility strategies.

“Rob’s experience and rapport with clients will be instrumental in the continued growth of Tighe & Bond’s work with institutions. We are excited to have him join the firm and look forward to having him implement high-level strategies for our projects in the education and healthcare markets,” said Dana Huff, Tighe & Bond client sector director.

Smedberg is known for his industry thought leadership, conducting presentations on industry-relevant topics and moderating conferences since 2010. He has discussed topics such as identifying trends that affect hospitals, patients and the A/E/C industry, and addressing how the built environment impacts public health. 

A graduate of the University of Rhode Island, Smedberg received his B.S. in Civil Engineering and is registered as a professional engineer in five states including Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Smedberg has been involved with several industry organizations including the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP), The Center for Health Design (CHD), New England Healthcare Engineers Society (NEHES), and as a Higher Education and Healthcare Committee member for the New York Building Congress.
