Spaceworks Architectural Interiors, a Boston-based firm providing architectural interior products such as floors, walls, and glass fronts, recently completed a project for the new Life Sciences facility at UMASS Amherst. The project is part of a 5-year capital improvements plan. Spaceworks completed more than 100 offices in 2 phases as part of this project.
Space works also completed work at Albert Shermen Center at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester.
The $400-million Albert Sherman Center expands and unifies the UMass Medical School's campus, double its research capacity and support the school's new learner-centered curriculum. This interdisciplinary, research and education facility will foster interaction and collaboration among scientists and promote innovation and synergies across disciplines. The 480,000 s/f Sherman Center, which opened in late 2012, attracts researchers, physicians, faculty, students and industry partners, enhancing the Medical School's position as a leader in medical research and education.
The project features Spaceworks' new glass front and door designs, with enhanced acoustics, aesthetics, and functionality in the doors and hardware.
