Spring is in the air, and just like our January to February transition was sudden, I saw someone driving on the highway with their convertible top down. I'm sure your operation staff are getting daily calls from tenants-either too hot or too cold. Oh, the challenges of our New England weather.
Our March presentation: The Incredible Shrinking Office Space - Panacea or Pandora's Box, was very well attended and offered some new and interesting research on a trend that has been growing over the past few years especially amongst the more progressive tenants.
In a testament to the winter actually coming to a merciful close, our golf committee has begun to meet to plan this year's version of our marquee event taking place at the Avon Country Club on July 7th. Additionally, the save the date flyer has been sent for a fun golf tune-up we call 9WD or Nine/Wine/Dine. It's more about the food and wine, but a good excuse to take a couple hours to start off your golf season, planned for May 14th at Wintonbury Golf Club in Bloomfield. Please join us for these great networking opportunities.
The last calendar event I want to update our membership on is the upcoming MAC (Mid-Atlantic Conference) event. Support our Southern CT chapter as they host this informational event attended by all the local BOMA chapters from Boston to D.C. in Stamford on April 29-May 1st. It's a great opportunity to meet some of your contemporaries and share experiences.
Enjoy the spring, and remember we can't complain about it being too hot.
Ron Goodin is the president of BOMA Greater Hartford, and is with Fletcher Thompson Architects, Hartford, Conn.
