Statewide comm'l. board of Realtors launches in Mass. - RCA-MA

The new leadership of the only commercial board of Realtors in Mass., approved for statewide expansion and a new name by the NAR, was installed into office by the president of the Mass. Association of Realtors (MAR). Now named the Realtors Commercial Alliance of Mass. (RCA-MA), the trade group held its first membership meeting and education program since its expansion at the Radisson Hotel at which the organization's volunteer leaders were sworn into office by MAR president Susan Renfrew.
According to the RCA-MA's new president, Sandy Brown of Cale Commercial Realty, "We were delighted to be approved as the newest statewide overlay Realtor board in the U.S., since our goal is to unite commercial real estate interests in Massachusetts for the benefit of our members and the public." He also noted that the organization has just launched a new membership drive that offers 14 months of membership for 12 months dues and waives the new member application fee for those who join during 2008.
RCA-MA has organized the creation of a new board of directors with representation from every local board of Realtors in the state.
In addition to Brown, the new officers are:

*Tim Garvey of Century 21 Commonwealth, secretary.

Although the organization is managed by the Northeast Association of Realtors headquartered in Chelmsford, it is a stand-alone Board of Realtors, with its own charter, bylaws, and directors to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and representation at the National Association of Realtors. The term Realtor is a trademark for use exclusively by members of the National Association of Realtors, with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.
