Terracon promotes Shedd, Lanne, Salsgiver, Gulseth-Rustad and Thunberg

Manchester, NH Terracon promoted five employees in the New England region: Wendell Shedd to regional office manager, Steve Lanne, P.E. to Boston office manager, Jerry Salsgiver, P.E. to Connecticut office manager, Gina Gulseth-Rustad, P.E. to environmental department manager, and Carl Thunberg, P.E. to geotechnical manager.

“Due to steady growth in the New England market Terracon is expanding and these promotions are a public acknowledgement of each individual’s contributions to our continued growth and commitment to client service and technical excellence,” said Bob Pavlicek, Terracon’s assistant operating group manager for the New England region.

Wendell Shedd to regional office manager Wendell Shedd, Terracon

Wendell Shedd ~ promoted to regional office manager Shedd has 30 years of project management experience providing geotechnical and environmental engineering, construction monitoring, and construction materials testing on projects throughout New England and the Midwest. He has performed and managed environmental site investigations, landfill closures, and underground storage tank removals and upgrades on a variety of sites in New England. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire and an Associate of Civil Engineering Technology from Vermont Technical College.

Steve Lanne, P.E. to Boston office manager, Steve Lanne, Terraon

Steve Lanne, P.E. ~ promoted to Boston office manager As a geotechnical engineer in the Hartford, Conn. office of Terracon Consultants, Inc., Lanne is responsible for completing a wide spectrum of geotechnical engineering tasks, including coordination and monitoring of subsurface investigation programs, soil resistivity testing, pavement evaluation and design, bearing capacity estimation, analysis of shallow and deep foundations, design of soil and rock slopes, stability analysis, liquefaction and settlement analysis, pile load testing, underpinning design, excavation support and retaining wall design, evaluating subsurface conditions, report preparation, and project management. Additionally, he has extensive experience in construction project oversight and management. He has worked on various geotechnical and construction projects throughout New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Lanne holds a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Jerry Salsgiver, P.E. ~ promoted to Connecticut office manager Salsgiver is a senior engineer and serves as the drilling operations manager for the northeast offices of Terracon. He has over 16 years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and has participated in a range of domestic and international projects. His experience includes managing projects involving site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, and geotechnical design and construction for commercial and municipal buildings, roadways and bridges, wastewater treatment systems facilities, transmission lines, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of New Haven.

Gina Gulseth-Rustad, P.E. to environmental department manager Gina Gulseth-Rustad, Terracon

Gina Gulseth-Rustad, P.E. ~ promoted to environmental department manager Gulseth-Rustad has over 15 years’ experience in providing consulting services to federal, municipal, state, and private sector clients from technical to business development perspectives. In addition to serving as the environmental department manager, she has credentials as a senior environmental and geotechnical engineer with experience in environmental investigation and complex issues related to site remediation and redevelopment. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

 Carl Thunberg, P.E. to geotechnical manager Carl Thunberg, Terracon

Carl Thunberg, P.E. ~ promoted to geotechnical manager Thunberg is a senior geotechnical engineer and geotechnical department manager for Terracon Consultants. He has broad experience in geotechnical analysis, design, and construction. His areas of expertise include deep and shallow foundation design for energy infrastructure projects, bridges, roadways, buildings, dams, slopes, retaining walls, landfills, and geotechnical aspects of environmental projects, including Superfund sites. Thunberg is experienced with both Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) and Allowable Stress Design (ASD) methods. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Hydrology from the University of New Hampshire.
