The Architectural Team (TAT) named to Lovejoy Wharf project
The Architectural Team (TAT) is serving as urban planner and architect for Lovejoy Wharf, the new mixed-use waterfront development reconnecting the North End, West End and the Charles River Esplanade. This will mark the firm's fifth Boston waterfront development, including: Battery Wharf, Commercial Wharf, Lincoln Wharf and Building 114 in Charlestown.
The complex will include the 187,000 s/f headquarters of sneaker manufacturer Converse. Interiors will be designed by Jennifer Carpenter Architects, with architect-of-record BH+A.
According to TAT, the plans include rehabilitating the historic nine-story building and adding a new 50,000 s/f addition, the space will include offices, ground-floor shops, and a 300-seat restaurant. Lovejoy Wharf will turn a privately owned wharf into a public amenity, by extending the Harborwalk with new floating docks, public water transportation facilities, and a visitor's center.
The development team Related Beal, involves a joint venture between Beal Cos. and The Related Cos.
