The Boulos Company hires Macrae as commercial real estate analyst

Tim Macrae

Portland, ME According to The Boulos Company, Tim Macrae has joined its team as the company’s first commercial real estate analyst, a position designed to enhance the firm’s ability to deliver strategic, data-driven insights and investment expertise to clients.

Macrae spent over seven years in Boston on the investment side of commercial real estate and brings a rare and valuable owner-operator perspective to the Boulos platform. His experience spans both institutional and entrepreneurial settings. He’s managed assets and underwritten transactions across a broad range of asset classes – including retail, industrial, office, and self-storage – with a total deal volume valued in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

In this new role, Macrae will work closely with Boulos’s brokers and clients to support acquisitions, leasing, development, and complex deal structures. His vast transaction experience and capital market knowledge will strengthen the Boulos investment advisory services.

Macrae is recognized for his analytical rigor and financial modeling talent and known for building tools and workflows from the ground up to evaluate value, feasibility, and capital stack strategies. His hands-on experience includes asset repositioning and entitlement work, such as when he led a multi-year effort to pass zoning changes in Weston, MA, that unlocked significant redevelopment potential.

“Tim brings the kind of real-world investment insight and technical horsepower that adds meaningful value to our clients – from private investors and developers to institutional stakeholders,” said Nate Stevens, managing partner at The Boulos Company.

“He’s not just a numbers guy, he understands how deals actually get done.”

A lifelong visitor to Maine and Camp Kieve alum, Macrae is excited to make the state his permanent home and contribute to its continued growth. His arrival reflects The Boulos Company’s ongoing investment in talent and innovation, and his values – client-first service, trust, and a deep commitment to excellence – align seamlessly with the firm’s culture.
