Mattapoisett, MA The Cottages at the Bay Club, an exclusive collection of upscale townhomes, set within the Bay Club, a private golf and lifestyle community, has named its project development team.
Led by veteran developer Winthrop Sargent and joined by respected real estate professionals Stephen Lynch and Laura Severino, the team brings a shared focus of quality, community, and delivering a lifestyle rooted in comfort and refined design.
Sargent, the founder and principal of Winthrop Capital Advisors and former CEO and chairman of the Plymouth & Brockton St. Railway Company, also developed the Shag Bark Circle village at the Bay Club in 2019, a community of 32 homes ranging in size from 1,800 to 3,500 s/f, many of which are adjacent to one of the club’s fairways. Sargent is known for developing residential projects that emphasize refined aesthetics and seamless integration with an upscale community lifestyle, giving his communities a unique edge over other South Coast developments.
Lynch, an accredited commercial associate with Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT in Marion, Mass., is also the owner of SC Lynch Development Co. LLC, a Marion-based firm providing real estate and exit strategy consulting. As a partner of the Cottages at the Bay Club’s development team, Lynch leads marketing and sales efforts, oversees general contractor Atlas Construction Management, and works with the lead architect, Saltonstall Architects and the design team.
Severino is a respected realtor and certified stager in the Plymouth/Bristol area, known for her market knowledge and staging/design expertise. Severino has more than 11 years of real estate industry experience, presently with Coldwell Banker Realty in Marion. In addition to guiding clients through the purchase and sale of homes, she brings specialized expertise in the luxury market and assisting first-time home buyers.
“We’re building more than luxury residences – we’re shaping a neighborhood that reflects the character and charm of Mattapoisett,” said Lynch. “From day one, our focus has been on developing homes that feel timeless, welcoming, and connected to the Bay Club lifestyle. I’m proud to bring my skills to a team that shares a deep commitment to quality and community.”
“The Cottages at the Bay Club represent a rare opportunity to combine elegant design, privacy, and the vibrancy of a close-knit community,” said Severino.
“I am delighted and excited to be part of a team that’s bringing thoughtful, high-quality homes to one of the South Coast’s most sought-after destinations.”
Real estate professionals Tamora Flahardy, Pamela McLain, and Jim McDade are also onboard the Cottages at the Bay Club development team.
Flahardy is the lead interior designer of The Cottages at the Bay Club. She owns Five Stones Design LLC, a boutique design firm specializing in custom new homes and thoughtful renovations, and works closely with Atlas Construction Management to select the finishes and guide the team in the industry trends. Flahardy, along with Jim McDade of Atlas Construction Management, also delivered Split Rock Lane, an earlier project of 21 homes at the Bay Club.
McLain serves as vice president, senior loan officer with BayCoast Mortgage, the preferred lender for the development. With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry, McLain brings deep expertise in construction, land, and refinance lending solutions.
McDade, owner of Atlas Construction Management, brings 15 years of strategic planning, construction management and fine home building to the project. He strives for controlled growth so that quality is never compromised.
The Cottages at the Bay Club is a collection of 12 upscale townhomes set within the Bay Club’s 625-acre Bay Club grounds – one of only two Certified Silver Audubon Signature Sanctuaries in Massachusetts. Each residence offers approximately 2,680 s/f of refined living space, plus an additional 600 s/f of unfinished space for future customization. Four homes have been completed to date, with full development slated for completion by summer 2026. Designed with both elegance and functionality in mind, the townhomes feature generous natural light, high-end finishes, and sweeping views of the Bay Club’s community golf course, hailed as a “hidden gem” in New England.
Located on Massachusetts’ scenic South Coast, The Cottages at the Bay Club offer an exclusive residential opportunity without the congestion of Cape Cod – no bridges, no seasonal traffic, and no potential roadway construction delays. The region continues to gain attention for its laid-back coastal charm, easy access to Boston and Providence, and a vibrant mix of cultural, recreational, and natural attractions.
“The success of The Cottages at the Bay Club is a direct reflection of the dedication and talent of our development team,” said Sargent. “From Laura Severino’s real estate insight and Steve Lynch’s precision planning to the trusted guidance of Tamora Flahardy and Jim’s McDade’s commitment to quality, this project is a true collaboration of professionals who care deeply about building community as much as we do beautiful homes.”
