Burlington, MA The District Burlington has opened two new restaurants as part of its redevelopment into a walkable, mixed-use destination where tenants find a range of amenities supporting collaborative and connected work space. The addition of Island Creek Oyster Bar and Pressed Café bring even more options to the campus.
Island Creek Oyster Bar (ICOB) places seafood at the center of a collaboration joining farmer, chef and diner. Partners chef Jeremy Sewall, Skip Bennett, Garrett Harker and Shore Gregory are set to open their second location following the groundbreaking Kenmore Sq. favorite. The New York-based firm Bentel & Bentel (The Modern, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern) conceptualized the design for the restaurant.
Much as they did with the Boston space, the stunning natural attributes of Duxbury Bay and the Island Creek Oyster Farm are woven into the physical elements of the restaurant, which includes Gabion cages filled with tens of thousands of cleaned oyster shells that make up a massive, three-dimensional wall. Island Creek Oyster Bar includes 165 seats plus three dynamic private dining spaces in a sit-down experience.

Pressed Café will offer a more casual atmosphere for tenants. With menu offerings emphasizing fresh and local ingredients, the 150-seat eatery provides a healthy option with the flexibility to grab your food and go.

The addition of Island Creek Oyster Bar and Pressed Café will bring the total number of seats to 2,000 at The District Burlington at full build out, or 2 dining seats for every 3 employees at The District, where restaurant options include Tuscan Kitchen and Market, Tavern on the Square and Rebecca’s Café, with more to be announced in 2017.
