The first quarter of 2011 finds The Torrey Company very optimistic about its future, following 2010, the year The Torrey Company celebrated its 25th year anniversary. 2010 will pass into history as one that greatly tested the resiliency of the American economy; a year that started for many without a backlog, and also ushered the lamentable loss of Peter Androski, The Torrey Company's founder, who died unexpectedly on January 3, 2010. Subsequent to his death, they continued operations, after a quick reorganization, under the same name, succeeding in serving their clients in a seamless and imperceptible transition. Their recovery throughout 2010 was slow but positive, thanks to the successful array of projects they were able to perform for well established companies and developers in the New England area; counting among their clients, Lowe's (Lowell, Mass. and Hadley, Mass.), Stop & Shop Supermarkets (Fairhaven, Mass. and N. Smithfield, R.I.), Arista Development (Walgreens, Pelham, N.H. and Walgreens, Mashpee, Mass.), BJ's Wholesale Clubs (Hudson/Berlin, Mass.), W/S Development (Charles River Plaza and Mansfield Crossings), DickÂ’s Sporting Goods (Williston, Vt. and Danvers, Mass.) and HannafordÂ’s Supermarkets (West Peabody, Mass.), among others. By the time 2010 ended, The Torrey Company once again had a backlog and could count on significant projects such as Hannaford Supermarkets in Manchester, N.H.; BJ's Wholesale Club in Pittsfield, Mass. (Saxon Partners); Walgreens, Dartmouth (Arista Development); and Bedford Mall Improvements Remodel (Gateway Van Buren, Inc.) a project that included a complete Staples store with a March 15, 2011 turn over date, among others.
Among the projects presently under construction, The Torrey Company is happy to report the following:

* Michaels, Lisbon, Conn.
* Dick's, Lisbon, Conn.
* Walgreens, Dartmouth, Mass.
* Bedford Mall, Bedford, N.H.
* BJ's, Pittsfield, Mass.
* Hannaford, Manchester, N.H.

The Torrey Company, established in 1985, as a general contractor/construction manager specializing in new construction projects and renovations, has become widely recognized throughout New England as a leader in retail and commercial construction. With a solid background and experience in business, engineering and construction they would often take on the cumbersome responsibilities of cost and quality control, safety compliance, scheduling and other delay-preventing tactics that could adversely affect any construction project. With a fully functioning facility, The Torrey Company can house every type of professional service and skill necessary for a smooth, worry-free process that finishes in a remarkable, successful, result.
With a focus on commercial and industrial clients, their diverse range of projects include shopping centers, department stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, R&D facilities, food processing/freezer plants, corporate centers and much more. The Torrey Company's mission is to continue providing sterling service, building solutions, quality workmanship, and absolute professionalism with every project they undertake. This philosophy ensures a smooth project that is completed on time, within budget, and that most of all reflects the highest level of standards their customers have come to expect.

Over the years, The Torrey Company has built millions of square feet of new construction. Over 85% of their projects are with national and local clients for whom they have previously built for.
