Joseph De Vito, president and CEO of The Village Bank, has promoted four employees as voted by the board of directors at the bank's recent annual meeting. They are: Jeffrey Tucker, Slater Cram, Kyle Farrell, and John Tarpinian.
Former vice president Tucker was promoted to senior vice president. He joined The Village Bank in 2006 as assistant vice president and manager of information systems. He was named vice president of operations in 2011. He began his banking career with Marlborough Savings Bank in 1994.
Tucker is a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies at Babson, and earned an associate degree in management information systems from the New England College of Finance. He serves as treasurer of the Rotary Club of Newton and is a board member of the West Suburban YMCA.
Cram, manager of the bank's main office in Auburndale since 2014, was promoted to assistant treasurer. Joining The Village Bank in 2006 as a teller in the Waban branch, he was promoted to head teller in Auburndale and subsequently served in assistant branch manager positions, first at the West Newton branch and then, in 2012, at the main office. He attended Boston College and completed studies at the New England School for Financial Studies in 2011. An active Village Volunteer, he is also a Paddy's Road Race committee member.
eCommerce manager Farrell was named an assistant treasurer in that same capacity. Hired in 2009 as a teller, Farrell moved on to serve as a BSA compliance assistant and then compliance coordinator before being named eCommerce manager in 2013. He is a graduate of Roger Williams University, and previously worked as an agent with John Hancock.
Farrell was honored with The Village Bank President's Award in 2010. He is the founder of the Village Bank Golf League, now in its fourth year, and serves in the community as a member of the Newton Boys and Girls Club events planning committee.
Tarpinian was promoted from commercial loan officer to assistant vice president, commercial lending at The Village Bank Loan Center. Hired in 2009 as a senior credit analyst, he has served the Bank as a commercial loan officer since 2001. Previously, he held positions as senior credit analyst and business services officer with BB&T.
Tarpinian holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Salem State University and a master's degree in criminal justice from Boston University.
