Century Investment Co. is proud to welcome its third generation to the business. Elizabeth Cohen joins the business to work alongside her father, Andrew Cohen and following in the footsteps of her late grandfather, Gilbert Cohen. She and her father will be working together in managing and developing real estate across western Mass. and northern Conn.
"My job training went from 0-60; the first week was a great introduction week, learning from my father and getting acclimated. The second week my father was out of the country and the tornado hit! I had to learn very quickly in order to restore our properties back to working order."
A graduate from Babson College Liz received her undergraduate degree in business administration and a Masters in Business Administration, majoring in Real Estate at the University of Conn..
"I am very excited to have Liz come on board," said Andrew. "She brings a go-getter attitude, valuable marketing experience and a fresh perspective to the business. It is with great pride that I welcome her into the business, I look forward to her input as we execute future projects."
In addition to following in her father's business footsteps, she also sits alongside him on the Jimmy Fund Council of western Mass. "Jimmy Fund is such a great cause and it was an honor to be asked to be a part of the Council. Everyone has unfortunately had a friend or a family member who has battled cancer and the council runs amazing events throughout the year that raise over a $1 million to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute." Andrew has been involved with the Jimmy fund for over 25 years, and has been honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award, Sadowsky Visionary Award, and most recently asked to join the visiting committee.
Century Investment was founded in the late 1940s when brothers Abe, Jack and Gilbert Cohen made real estate investments in Agawam, West Springfield and downtown Springfield. By the 1950s the brothers were developing the region's first shopping center on Memorial Ave. in West Springfield. Today it is a 285,000 s/f shopping complex with tenants including T.J. Maxx, Bob's Discount Furniture, Savers, Modell's and Big Y.
