Three CBRE managed properties named BOMA Buildings of the Year

According to CB Richard Ellis/New England, a joint venture partner with CB Richard Ellis, three buildings under the firm's management - 501 Boylston St. in Boston, 1-290 Industrial Park in Northborough, and One Brattle Sq. in Cambridge -have been named The Office Buildings of the Year (TOBY) within the Middle Atlantic Region by the Building and Owners Management Association (BOMA). The buildings were recognized with three separate TOBY awards, with 501 Boylston St. earning the Historic Building of the Year award, I-290 Industrial Park winning the Industrial Office Park of the Year award, and One Brattle Sq. named the Office Building of the Year under 100,000 s/f. The industry awards were held April 16th in Atlantic City, New Jersey. BOMA's Middle Atlantic Region spans six states and encompasses 15 local BOMA divisions. "We're honored to be recognized by our industry association on a regional level with these prestigious awards," said Mark Tassinari, executive vice president/partner and head of CBRE/NE's Property Management division. "These awards speak to our exceptional performance within the industry and our commitment to high-quality building management throughout New England and beyond." 501 Boylston St., a 10-story office building built in 1940 and owned by Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association, was the recipient of the Historic Building of the Year award. The building was recognized for its strong identity within Boston's Back Bay, the historic preservation of its art deco façade and the recent restoration of its main lobby. The building comprises approximately 600,000 s/f and is managed and leased by CBRE/NE. I-290 Industrial Park, located in Northborough, is a six-building industrial park owned by Cabot Properties. The park received the Industrial Office Park of the Year due to its significant impact on the Northborough community: I-290 Industrial Park is the largest taxpayer in Northborough, regularly contributes to the Northborough Fire Department Academic Scholarship Fund, and provides substantial job opportunities for local workers. The park is exclusively leased and managed by CBRE/NE. One Brattle Sq. is a six-story class A office building located in Cambridge's Harvard Sq. neighborhood. The building is owned by Piedmont Office Realty Trust and was named The Office Building of the Year under 100,000 s/f due to its excellent physical condition, efficient mix of office and retail space and immediate access to public transportation. The building is exclusively leased and managed by CBRE/NE. BOMA is the industry's leading network of professionals involved in building ownership, management, development and leasing. The association provides a networking forum for industry professionals to discuss mutual issues, exchange ideas and share experience and knowledge. Its Middle Atlantic division comprises over 3,500 members, ranging from Massachusetts to Washington, D.C.
