Thru the Lens: 160 kids in need get new shoes from Brady Sullivan Properties

Merrimack, NH Brady Sullivan Properties has donated 160 pairs of shoes to underprivileged children who are currently enrolled in sports programs at Girls Inc. of NH and the YWCA/SNHU Center for New Americans.

“When we learned that many of the kids in these organizations struggle to participate in after school sports because they do not have the proper footwear, we knew this was an opportunity for us to step up” said Brady Sullivan principal co-owner Arthur Sullivan. “On behalf of our entire team at Brady Sullivan, we are grateful for this opportunity to give back to the community in a way that will help benefit kids in need.”

The two non-profit organizations each sent 80 kids to the Finish Line shoe store, where Brady Sullivan employees measured them all for fit and helped them pick out their new shoes.

“The experience of going into a store and being able to pick out what they want is not something that many of the girls ever experience” said Girls Inc. of NH COO Jennifer Indeglia.

Girls Inc. is a statewide organization with centers in Nashua and Manchester that provide after school programs, summer camps and outreach initiatives in over 30 schools across the state. Annually, Girls Inc. serves approximately 1,800 girls throughout NH, many of whom are the first in their family to obtain their college diploma and break the cycle of poverty they were raised in.

“We are all immensely grateful and inspired by this act of generosity” said Courtney Perron, program manager for the SNHU Center for New Americans. “As simple as a pair of shoes can be for many of us, it makes a big difference in the lives of these kids.” The SNHU Center for New Americans is hosted in partnership with the YWCA of New Hampshire, as a fully functioning pathway to higher education for anyone in high school and above in the local New American community.
