Thru the Lens: Callahan Construction celebrates the season of giving at Rosie’s Place

Boston, MA Callahan Construction Managers (Callahan) volunteered at Rosie’s Place on Friday, November 22nd, to give back to the community in the spirit of the season. This is the fourth time Callahan has volunteered at Rosie’s Place this year.

Founded in 1974, Rosie’s Place was one of the first women’s shelters in the United States. The organization provides meals, shelter and wide-ranging support from housing to education services. Rosie’s Place looks to maintain the dignity of women in the area by providing a safe, nurturing environment that helps women find security and seek opportunity in their lives.

During Callahan’s volunteer day, 13 employees prepared and served meals to 141 women and children.

“As we enter the holiday season, it always feels great to give back to the local community,” said David Morrow, project executive at Callahan. “Being able to volunteer during the holiday season makes this visit extra special.”

Rosie’s Place is one of the many organizations where Callahan volunteers both time and resources as part of their Constructing Communities program. Constructing Communities was designed to support the local communities where Callahan works, offering outreach through volunteerism, the hiring of local subcontractors and the purchase of local goods.

Callahan’s corporate responsibility efforts are one of the reasons the company was named a “Top Work Place” by the Boston Globe in 2018.
