Urstadt Biddle Properties receives Gold Award from DPUC for the retrofit of parking garage lighting at Ridgeway Shopping Center

According to Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc., the Connecticut State Department of Utility Control (DPUC) in conjunction with the Department of Environmental Protection presented a Gold Award to Urstadt Biddle. Donna Borchers and Heidi Bramante accepted the award on behalf of Urstadt Biddle as part of the 6th Annual Summer Savers Award at The State Capitol in Hartford. Urstadt Biddle was selected to receive the Gold Award as a result of a project to retrofit the parking garage lighting at Ridgeway Shopping Center in Stamford, which reduced the energy consumption at the facility by over 25%. The Connecticut Summer Savers Awards Program recognizes efforts to save energy, contribute to electric reliability, and preserve Connecticut's environment by recognizing facilities that reduce energy consumption by a minimum of 5% from the previous two years without the use of high-emission back-up diesel generators. Urstadt Biddle's participation in this program has helped the state to enhance the reliability of its electric system while reducing poor air quality and saving energy and reducing peak electricity demand and CO² emissions.
