Vantage Builders donates $35,000 to Fisher House Boston through fore Charity Golf Classic

Waltham, MA Vantage Builders, Inc. has made a $35,000 donation to Fisher House Boston through its fifth annual Vantage Builders fore Charity Golf Classic tournament.

This is the second fore Charity Golf Classic to benefit Fisher House Boston, which is dedicated to providing free lodging and compassionate support to military families receiving medical care in Boston. A field of 100 golfers participated in this year’s tournament, which was held at Franklin Country Club. To date, Vantage Builders has raised more than $155,000 for its charitable partners through the annual tournament.

“Fisher House Boston is so grateful for the continued support from Vantage Builders’ fore Charity Golf Classic,” said Jennifer DeLuca, executive director for Fisher House Boston. “This event is not only a great time, but over the past two years it has provided military families receiving specialized medical care in Boston with more than 390 nights of safe and comfortable lodging at no cost to the patient or their family! The impact of this support is life-changing. The lodging allows families to access medical care they may not have been able to access otherwise. The tournament got off to a patriotic start with the national anthem sung by Todd Angilly, who performs before Boston Bruins home games. At the reception, speakers held the crowd in rapt attention. Gary Keefe, Fisher House Boston president, welcomed the attendees and provided an update on Fisher House Boston.

Medal of Honor recipient, Sergeant Ryan Pitts, shared his remarkable story of courage and sacrifice during combat operations in Afghanistan. Betty-Jo O’Brien and her son Kevin O’Brien talked about their experience as one of the first families assisted by Fisher House Boston.
