Plymouth, MA VERC Enterprises, a convenience store and Mobil/Gulf gasoline operator with locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire, will financially sponsor and participate in the September 23 Best Buddies Friendship Walk at DCR Pilgrim Memorial State Park, 79 Water St.

The walk, one of several throughout the country facilitated by Best Buddies International, raises awareness and funds to support those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The walk plays a key role in funding Best Buddies programs dedicated to one-to-one friendships, leadership development and integrated job opportunities for individuals with IDD. Registration is free and there is no minimum fundraising amount to participate.

In addition to financial sponsorship of the walk, employees and friends of VERC Enterprises will participate in the fundraising event. A donation jar has been placed at Mayflower Provisions in Plymouth for customers to help support Team VERC. Moreover, a portion of proceeds made from VERC’s Briteway car wash locations in Marshfield and Norwell on September 16 will be donated to the walk.

“Join us in giving the gift of friendship by registering to walk with Team VERC or donating to Best Buddies,” said Leo Vercollone, president of VERC Enterprises. “Big, small or somewhere in between, your support won’t go unnoticed.”

Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization serving the IDD community, including, but not limited to, people with Down Syndrome, autism, Fragile X, Williams Syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other undiagnosed disabilities.
