Danvers, MA Gienapp Architects and VernerJohnson, two prominent Massachusetts-based architecture firms, are proud to announce they have formed a new strategic partnership. By combining Gienapp Architects’ excellence in project management and execution and VernerJohnson’s design expertise and expansive portfolio, the partnership will increase the resources of both firms and the services available to clients.

Gienapp Architects was founded in 2000 to provide excellence in architectural design, project management and superior service to clients in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. Their services include building design, project management, feasibility studies, master planning, site selection analysis, code review and evaluation, building assessment as well as due diligence and space needs analysis. They have proven success in providing architectural services for commercial, multifamily, city/state, educational, and historic buildings as well as providing owner’s project manager (OPM) services.

VernerJohnson was founded in 1965 as a general architectural practice but in 1978 changed to become a museum-only practice. Today, it is the only architectural firm in the U.S. specializing exclusively in the planning and design of museums. They offer comprehensive services that museum leadership needs as they move their projects from initial stages through completion. Their projects range in size from 7,000 to 1.3 million s/f.

“Brad and I have known one another for over 30 years, as both friends and collaborators. This partnership grew naturally from our working relationship. I’m excited that Gienapp Architects and VernerJohnson are taking this next step,” said Gienapp Architects principal, Dale Gienapp, AIA.

“Dale and I were students together at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and at Iowa State University where we became close friends. Since then, we have collaborated on numerous architectural projects. Forming this strategic partnership combines the best aspects of both our firms, offering a deeper skill set to our clients,” said VernerJohnson managing principal, Bradley Nederhoff, AIA.

VernerJohnson will operate primarily from their satellite office at Gienapp Architects’ location in Danvers.
