A momentous event in the construction of downtown Stamford's Highgrove luxury condominium took place recently when Hunter Roberts Construction Group began pouring the structure's foundation, signaling the start of vertical progress on the building.
The first day of the foundation pour took approximately eight hours and established 535 cubic yards of concrete. The foundation pour is expected to continue over the next three months until it reaches grade level. The 350,000 s/f 18-story building will consist of 95 condominium residences as well as 230 indoor valet parking spaces. Highgrove is on track for meeting its expected completion date of summer of 2009. An official groundbreaking ceremony was held Oct. 10th.
"We are extremely proud to announce the start of the foundation pour for Highgrove, which heralds the beginning of the building's vertical construction and a visibly accelerated progress on the site," said Jason Schlesinger, principal of Ceebraid-Signal.
Highgrove's centralized location will provide residents with direct access to the immediate neighborhood's many restaurants, retailers, and cultural and entertainment venues, as well as the nearby Stamford Transportation Center which offers a short commute into Manhattan.
Designed by the architectural firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Highgrove is a joint venture project between Ceebraid-Signal Corp. and the New York-based real estate investment arm of Investcorp International.
