W&M Properties leases 2,900 s/f to Lululemon on Westport's Main St.

Lululemon, the fast growing, publicly traded  international yoga accessories and sportswear retailer, will open a store on Main St. this coming autumn, reports Fred Posniak, senior vice president of W&M Properties, which manages and markets the space Lululemon will occupy. The hip Vancouver-based retail chain will move into 2,900 s/f at 91 Main St., in the heart of the city's primary shopping area. The retailer took possession of the space August 1st, and began its build-out immediately, under terms of a 10-year lease. Its adjoining neighbors on both sides will be Ann Taylor and The Gap. "Main St. in Westport is one of the most desirable suburban retail centers in the nation," said Posniak. "It's a concentration of stores in a pedestrian mall-like setting, serving a population whose average household income, within a three-mile radius, is about $155,000. That's two-and-a-half times the national average."   Among the nearly 50 retailers on Main St. are J. Crew, Brooks Brothers, Coach, Crabtree & Evelyn, Talbots, Williams Sonoma, Johnston & Murphy, Starbucks, Banana Republic and Restoration Hardware.
