Lincoln, RI The Northern Rhode Island Board of Realtors (NRIBR) named Chris Whitten of Preemer Real Estate as its 2022 Good Neighbor Award winner. The award was presented at the NRIBR Realtors Care fundraiser and awards ceremony at the Kirkbrae Country Club. The evening was attended by 300 members and friends of the NRIBR and raised $8,000 for the association’s charitable beneficiary Meals on Wheels of R.I.  Also, NRIBR awarded $1,000 student scholarships to Cumberland High School seniors Connor Enestvedt and Rachel Walmsley.

The NRIBR Good Neighbor Award is awarded annually and recognizes a Realtor who has made an extraordinary impact on their communities through their volunteer work. Whitten was selected as this year’s NRIBR Good Neighbor Award winner for his charitable work with many area non-profits including Operation Stand Down of Johnston, which will receive a $1,000 donation from NRIBR on Whitten’s behalf.

He is the association’s second Good Neighbor Award Winner and will now be considered for the National Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Award.

“Chris’ volunteer work with Operation Stand Down of Rhode Island this past year was commendable,” said Alexander Parmenidez, 2022 president.  “He has not only helped raise funds for the organization, but he has volunteered his time, and former radio host skills, to helping raise awareness for the organization and its work providing supportive services to veterans.”

Whitten has been a member of the NRIBR for more than 13 years and was last year’s Rhode Island Association of Realtors 2021 Realtor of the Year.
