Williams promoted to executive vice president at Dakota

Gary Williams

Waltham, MA According to Dakota Partners, Gary Williams has been promoted to executive vice president of construction.

“In the time he has been with us, Gary has done tremendous work in bringing consistency and uniformity to the data and details within the construction team. He has brought hands-on leadership to current project teams, reinforced existing teams with additional resources and is working hard daily to enable the overall success of the department,” said Dakota principal and CEO, Marc Daigle.

“Please join me in congratulating Gary on charting a course forward for continued success of the Construction Team.”

One of Dakota’s core values is collaboration and Gary’s approach to leading personifies this. Weekly project status updates shared by the team leaders serve as a regular forum to communicate progress photos, seek feedback on challenges, and most importantly set direction for the week to come. This recurring pattern of celebrating the interim victories creates positive energy amongst the team and momentum that’s hard to contain. The results are tangible. In Gary’s time with Dakota, monthly revenue growth has moved steadily upward, ultimately allowing the company to create housing that matters for those in need.

Over his 25-year career, Gary has a well-earned reputation for excellence in the Mid-Atlantic area. Based in Richmond, Virginia, he has managed a wide range of projects in various roles as a subcontractor, general contractor, and design-builder. Notably, the experience working for a precast concrete subcontractor in both Project Management and Sales capacities has rewarded him with unique access to many sophisticated general contractors and the related perspective has significantly shaped his day-to-day interactions as well as his approach to conflict resolution. Accordingly, the importance of each subcontractor to the ultimate success of a project is something Dakota understands and values.

As a real estate developer and builder, Dakota Partners develops affordable, workforce and market-rate housing communities across New England, New York and the mid-Atlantic states. At the core of every project is Dakota’s mission to create housing that matters – to residents, the community, and the environment.
