Windover Constructioncompletes 26,000 s/f Endicott College's Callahan Student Center; Connor Architecture provides design for $13.9m project

Windover Construction completed its ninth project at Endicott College - a $13.9 million renovation and expansion of the Callahan Student Center. Windover led the design/build approach and completed the project during the active school year on time and on budget. Mark Connor of Connor Architecture was the architect. "Our approach with Endicott College, as with any project, is to truly understand the client's needs and expectations," said Lee Dellicker, president of Windover. "Our team focused on constructing an impressive building, while building a strong relationship with our client. At Endicott College, it is always about carefully balancing traditional sensibilities with creating learning facilities, all with minimal disruption to campus life." The project involved constructing a 26,000 s/f addition to the existing 38,000 s/f building. Demolition and construction were completed in phases to accommodate the occupied areas that needed to remain in use. Renovations included demolition and installation of all plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems, a new façade, and new road and pedestrian ways surrounding the building. The Callahan Center is home to expanded kitchen and dining areas, a new bookstore, administrative offices, a new health center, counseling center, mail and copy center, and an expanded student lounge.
