Xarras named chairman of board for Colwen Managment

The board of directors of Colwen Management Inc. has named Leo Xarras to chairman of the board. As chairman, Xarras will be responsible for guiding the hotel management company's growth. Xarras has been with the company since 2008 and is a partner in Colwen Mgmt. and in several Colwen managed hotels. Xarras has more than 20 years of diverse hotel management, development and investment experience. Past projects in New England and the Dominican Republic have afforded experience in lodging acquisition, renovation, construction, historic restoration and management. "With this appointment, the board of directors has shown its confidence in Xarras' leadership," said Wendell Butcher, president of Colwen. "We trust he will continue to grow and bring innovative solutions to the company making Colwen managed hotels great places for our guests to stay and for our associates to work and grow their careers." Xarras will continue to lead Colwen Management's sales, revenue management, e-commerce, interior design, and purchasing divisions. The company's full-service hotels, the Renaissance Hotel & Spa at Patriot Place and the Ashworth by the Sea Hotel, will continue to report directly to him
