The EBC celebrates 20 years!

The Environmental Business Council is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year. The EBC was founded in 1990 by environmental and energy company executives who began meeting on a regular basis to exchange ideas and share experiences. The EBC was the first organization in the United States established to support and foster the development of the environmental industry.

Now in its 20th year, the EBC has over 200 members and hosted close to 100 events and meetings last year! Even in these economically challenging times, membership is thriving, our financial condition is good, and we have a lengthy menu of opportunities aimed at keeping members informed about environmental trends, and about each other. The EBC has designed a series of events bringing regulators, proponents, and consultants together to explore:

* Climate Change

* Stimulus Funding and Economic Revitalization

* Alternative Energy

* Regulatory Program Updates and Changes

We also have not lost sight of the importance of networking among our members. EBC events and Young Environmental Professional gatherings offer opportunities to meet with peers, compare business practices and form valuable business alliances. Please visit our website to view the entire catalog of events.

Members can participate in a variety of committees on topics including Climate Change, Construction and Demolition Materials, Energy, Human Resources, Site Remediation and Redevelopment, Solid Waste Management, Water Resources, Wind Energy Development and Young Environmental Professionals. Through participation on committees, members are able to make important connections, address topics of particular concern to them, and have an impact on the direction of the EBC and the industry.

The EBC member companies include businesses specializing in environmental and energy technology, services and products. They range from one-person entrepreneurial ventures to established corporations with thousands of employees. Membership includes companies that manufacture equipment, provide services in the areas of engineering and consulting, solid and hazardous waste management, remedial and emergency response, and analytical testing. Membership also includes institutions in investment, lending, financial, and education, as well as governmental agencies.

With the support of our members and friends, the EBC will continue to advance and promote the environmental and energy businesses in New England for many more years to come. We thank our members and the environmental industry for their support over the past 20 years.
