SBIC call for entries 2010 Beyond Green High-Performance Building

Washington, DC Sustainable Building Industry Council (SBIC) is seeking entries for the 2010 Beyond Green High-Performance Building Awards. This program recognizes the initiatives that shape, inform and catalyze the high-performance building market, as well as the real-world application of high-performance design and construction practices.

The winners of the Beyond Green High-Performance Building Awards present their projects on Capitol Hill as part of an educational briefing for lawmakers and the public. This presentation and poster session gives winners an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities for delivering better buildings with policymakers.

The briefing is held in conjunction with the High-Performance Buildings Congressional Caucus (HPBCC) and the High-Performance Buildings Congressional Caucus Coalition (www.hpbccc.org).

The 2010 Award program will also feature an additional afternoon session and expanded poster session held Catholic University's School of Architecture and Planning. Area students and local building practitioners will have the opportunity to understand winning projects in greater detail, ask questions, and earn AIA CES credits.

Winning projects will also be published on the Whole Building Design Guide Web site (www.wbdg.org), which is managed by the National Institute of Building Sciences. Additional recognition will include an announcement in SBIC's newsletter, Buildings Inside & Out, a handsome plaque, posting on the Council's Web site and inclusion in SBIC technical guidelines and publications.
