BOMA Boston update: Upcoming programming and annual benefit - raised $60,000 for Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Boston, MA On Thursday, March 14th BOMA Boston held their annual benefit supporting BOMA’s charitable partner – Bridge Over Troubled Waters. The event was held at the UMASS Club at One Beacon St. from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Over 300 members and guests enjoyed an evening of great networking, food and drink, raffle prizes and an exciting fundraising activity while supporting a great cause! Through the generosity of attendees and fundraising participants, BOMA Boston raised $60,000 for Bridge Over Troubled Waters!

Boston’s commercial real estate market was the topic of discussion during BOMA Boston’s March 26th Roundtable program. Panelists discussed overall market updates on lab, downtown and suburban office space as well as their predictions regarding the next downturn. Panelists for the program included Rob Albro, managing director with King Street Properties; Erika Clarke, vice president, commercial property management, National Development; 2019 president, GBREB, Julia Georgules, senior vice president, director of research, JLL; and Jeffrey Moore, senior vice president, Lincoln Property Co. Join BOMA Boston on Tuesday, April 23rd for an engaging panel discussion on “Solar, Lighting and Recycling Programs.” Panelists: Neil Sharma, COO, SolarKal; John Duquette, vice president and general manager, Commonwealth Electrical Technologies, Inc; and Bill Osborn, vice president of sales & business development, Restream. The panelists will share their knowledge and expertise about sustainability efforts that aren’t new to the scene but are having a reemergence thanks to an increase in incentives, programs, and credits that will help you save money and time. The roundtable will be taking place at the BOMA Boston Office, Three Center Plaza, from 12:10 – 1:30 p.m., with registration  at 11:45 a.m. 

BOMA Boston’s Annual Springfest event is coming up! Join 300 members and colleagues on Thursday, May 2nd for a night of networking at 100 Federal St.’s new glass atrium event space. All industry BOMA members and non-members are invited to attend this exciting event. Affiliate members must sponsor to attend, and only paid BOMA members are eligible to sponsor.  

Save the date for BOMA Boston’s Tech Tour of 100 Northern Ave., on Friday, May 3rd. Hosted by the BOMA Boston engineering committee, attendees will get a behind the scenes look at the 17-story tower located in the city’s buzzing Seaport District. 

BOMA’s partnership with BOMI International remains strong. Through educational offerings, BOMA Members and Non-Members learn from senior professionals in the commercial real estate industry to work towards earning their RPA or FMA designations, or PAC or PMFP certifications. The next course, “Design, Operations & Maintenance of Building Systems Pt. 1” will begin on April 10th. The course will be instructed by Mike Gill, Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and will be taking place at Alexandria Real Estate in Cambridge.
