Life Sciences Panel - April 12

Life Sciences Panel: Disruption & Innovation in the Future of Biotech Facilities

With the largest concentration of life science researchers in the US, employment rates are high and vacancies are low in Greater Boston. With an influx of new start-ups and influence of Big-Bio, life science facilities are continuously changing to meet the needs of the companies that call them home. This panel brings together diverse perspectives to discuss how facilities are accommodating the evolving needs of life science companies from inception to maturity. Some highlights of the talk will include:

Javier Arguedas | North America Partner Development Executive, Waldner

Javier Arguedas, right after graduating from Wittenberg Univ. (OH), started his professional career within the Project Business.  He was hired by a Spanish Consortium of 5 companies to coordinate and design Pharmaceutical Production Premises, specializing in Cleanrooms for Solid Forms. In 1998, the firm Waldner wanted to start its business in Spain, proposing to Javier the possibility of becoming the official dealer. This challenge was accepted, and ever since Waldner has been well known and recognized in the Spanish Market.  After 7 years designing and installing labs, not only in Spain but also in Latin-American, Javier decided to change to the lab equipment business, along again with cleanroom.

In 2008, Javier decided to come back to Waldner and take care of the whole Sales Organization.  Now, with his broad Lab-planning knowledge with more than 20 years in this field, Javier was able to place Waldner Spain in the leading market position, confirming that the lab-planning approach, offering solutions to the end users and Engineers was the right way to come up with state-of-the-art installations.   In January 2016 Waldner appointed Javier to head the US & Canadian Markets as both markets are very oriented to the Lab-planning approach, and therefore, his skills and experience, along with the large product portfolio of the SCALA System, will impact the lab designing for both markets soon.
