Project of the Month: Dacon Corp. and Scannell Properties complete renovation of 371,778 s/f package distribution center

June 21, 2019 - Front Section

Quincy, MA Dacon Corp. in collaboration with Scannell Properties, has completed the renovation of a 371,778 s/f package distribution center in the city’s Marina Bay area. This is Dacon’s fifth project with Scannell. This project consists of a complete modernization and repurposing of the former Boston Scientific distribution center.

The tenant, a national delivery service, required a sorting center with the capacity to handle high product and trucking volumes to address the growing demand from Boston and the surrounding suburbs. Two existing full bays were removed to make room for an additional 150-foot truck court with an 80,000 s/f one-story indoor parking structure added to the center of the building. New MEP/FP systems, a TPO roof and 9,000 s/f of office space was incorporated into the project.
