10-11-2012 - University of Hartford's Construction Institutes to hold 18th annual State-of-the-State event

University of Hartford's Construction Institutes 18th annual State-of-the-State event will be held on October 11th, from 8:30 a.m. - 11 a.m. at "The Hanger" at Pratt & Whitney's campus. Program registration, continental breakfast and networking will begin at 7:45 a.m.
The event will provide valuable information regarding architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) business opportunities with the state. The event will host representatives from the state's public construction market, who will provide reports on the scope and nature of their respective construction programs and information regarding the selection process.
The program will feature governor Dannel Malloy, who will provide keynote remarks and present a progress report on the Jackson Laboratories project. Program moderator, West Hartford town manager and professional economist, Ronald Van Winkle, will provide an economic overview and prospects for the AEC communities in 2013 and beyond.
The program will also feature a program of state government luminaries, including Daniel Esty, commissioner of the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and Carlos Velez, commissioner of the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) who will provide information regarding pre-qualification and the selection process for State projects. Department of Transportation (DOT) commissioner James Redeker will provide reports on the scope and nature of his department's construction programs for 2013 and beyond. Pascuale "Bud" Salemi and Allen Herring will provide informative updates regarding projects administered by the Connecticut Department of Construction Services. Alexandria Roe from the University of Connecticut and Thomas Trutter from the University of Connecticut Health Center will provide information regarding ongoing and future developments on their respective campuses.
