Years in the AEC Industry: 24 Years

If you had a mentor in your career, who was it and what did they teach you? I have been blessed with more than just a mentor in my career in the HVAC industry. Of course, I will never forget the one that took me under his wing at the inception of my career in the building mechanical industry about 24 years ago. He was a rigid and demanding supervisor. Back then it was rare to find women in the A/E/C industry and I thought he would not treat me fairly. He did not stereotype me and took me under his wing and taught me some valuable lessons about the industry, how to challenge myself, and to never lose sight of my goals. He always had my back. Since then, I have been fortunate to be mentored by some of the most amazing leaders and supervisors in the building industry. I am thankful to be where I am and look forward to being a part of this constantly evolving industry.
