Who or what inspires you? My co-workers inspire me. Mike has a wealth of knowledge and is always open to my questions and willing to help. Hilary inspires me as a working mom who balances her home life and an extremely successful working life. Erin inspires me with her creativity and work ethic. I admire how good she is on the spot and under pressure. Jordana inspires me with how she handles customer service every day. She has a great eye for small details that can get overlooked and genuinely has the clients’ interests in mind.

How have your life experiences impacted who you are professionally? Right before I turned 30, I decided to leave a law enforcement career and go back to school for interior design, something I’d always been interested in but for various reasons made different career choices. For the first time in my life I have a career I love. I genuinely enjoy the design process, doing floor plans, sourcing the furniture and putting together the presentation. I am also more present and patient at home with my family when I can be creative and do something that I genuinely enjoy as a job every day.

Which project, deal, or transaction was the “game-changer” in the advancement of your career? Yield 10: they are an agricultural bioscience company that needed help with benching units for their research and development team. I drew up the plans and suggested incorporating their brand colors in the design. We selected maple desks with frosted glass, bright kelly green fabric dividers, and pops of orange fabric on top of silver mobile filing units! We also furnished their private offices with coordinating maple furniture and bright green guest chairs. We are now working together again, rearranging slightly and extending heights on dividers to allow for more distancing when employees are able to return to their offices.
